  • January 7; 8:00am-10:00am: Free birding tours at the San Jacinto Wetlands!! Join Audubon Society volunteers as they lead a once-a-month birding excursion on the first Saturday of each month through May. Polish your binoculars so you can spot some of the120 species of birds that have been observed at the wetlands.Reservations are not required.   • January 12; 4:00pm-5:30pm: UCR Friends of the Santa Ana River Meeting - Join local professionals, students and professors at the UCR Orbach Science Library (room 240) to discuss Santa Ana River Watershed issues. Guest speaker Patricia Lock-Dawson, long time Riverside activist and consultant, will present on the topic of: “Stewardship of the Santa Ana: Ways to Involve and Engage our Communities”. The closest parking is in Visitor Lot 10.

Check out the Project Learning Tree, Project Wet and Project Flying Wild workshops - all are free events and include a curriculum guide.   • January 28; 8:00am-12:00pm: Volunteer for hands-on restoration work at the Chino Creek Wetlands & Educational Park. Hosted by Inland Empire Utilities Agency and the Santa Ana Watershed Association. For more details check out the flyer.

 

  • February 4; 8:00am-11:00a: Looking for a volunteer event?? Join Waterkeeper staff as we partner with Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful for their City of Riverside Ward 2 community event. Help us improve our local neighborhoods and waterways by participating in the litter cleanups, graffiti removal, storm drain cleanups, and plantings.
