Money is tight for fledgling  non-profits!  We are looking for generous corporate sponsors and private donations to fund our crucial mission.  Donations can be made on our website and you will be given a receipt for your tax-deductible gift.  Corporate sponsors will be recognized on our web page and printed materials.

FIELD TRIP HELPER

We have field trips to the Prado Wetlands scheduled for every Wednesday in February. Students sample water, plant natives, weed invasives and learn birding.  We need just one volunteer helper for each. Start 9am and end about 2pm.  Time/mileage tax-deductible.

Inland Empire Waterkeeper (IEWK) is a grassroots nonprofit water quality organization dedicated to enhancing and protecting the Upper Santa Ana River Watershed through advocacy, education, restoration and enforcement.  We look forward to working with concerned citizens like you to fulfill our mission.

Irvine-Corona Tunnel Project
 
The Riverside-Orange Corridor Authority is considering a multi-use tunnel beginning at Cajalco Road and Bedford Canyon through 11.5 miles of the Santa Ana Mtns to connect at the highway 133/241 intersection.  No work has commenced in the Cleveland National Forest yet.

Riverside County Water Symposium, 2008

L.E.A.P.S Update  
 
LEAPS towersDec. 18: National Marine Fisheries Service comments to FERC on Draft EIS as stand-alone biological assessment for the Federally endangered So. Cal steelhead in San Juan Creek and San Mateo Creek.  It is inadequate and more information needed.
 
Dec. 21: Nevada Hydro submits amended "Reply" to late-filed protests and responses, including OUR protest, EVMWD's response,  the protest of Friesan Focus LLC, and the protest of Doug Pinnow. Available here from the California Public Utilities Commission website (PDF).
 
 
[LEAPS is the Lake Elsinore Advanced Pump Storage project that is two-fold: hydroelectric dam above Lake Elsinore in the Cleveland National Forest and 30-mile interconnect transmission line through the National Forest.]  Read more  HERE, or www.stopleaps.info or www.evmwd.com or www.leapsforward.org.
